WHAT: Tenebrae is Latin for darkness or shadows. Tenebrae begins with a simple meal together and communion. Afterwards, we will hold a candle light service in our main sanctuary, where we will remember the last moments of Christ, through Scripture readings and worship. Throughout the night, the candles will be extinguished one by one until darkness totally cloaks the Church. But in the darkness is a powerful prayer, and with only one candle lit, the assembly disperses in solemn silence. It’s a service that seeps into your bones and leaves your entire being longing for Easter…longing for the Resurrection…longing for the victory of Jesus Christ!
